He's a good podcaster and his acting on that news week show was pretty good by sitcom standards. His stand up I've only seen a couple sets but was pretty mediocre but I've got high standards. I could see how people who don't go to or watch much stand up would find his stuff funny

I think it's really funny that Redban started the most successful podcast of all time and one of the biggest stand up podcast/shows with Kill Tony.

Back in the old days Joe would have some scientist on to discuss a serious topic and out of nowhere Redban would say something like "Do you guys like sniffing your balls when you haven't showered in couple of days"

His strength as a podcaster is when he shuts the fuck up and let’s the guest talk. It’s when he gives his meathead takes on shit he knows nothing about that he sucks. Funnily enough him going “woooah” or “that’s crazy” is fine so long as it keeps the conversation flowing. It’s when he says “ME JOE. ME GIVE TAKE ON GLOBAL POLITICS COS ME SMART” that i tune out. Most people don’t watch the Joe Rogan experience for Joe Rogan.

He isn't capable of asking anything relevant let alone relevant and interesting that you wouldn't hear at the spacex presentations musk heads. There are maybe 3 people in the interviewing/content creation sphere capable of asking musk questions that will actually get his noggin joggin enough to get him to slip up and give out some interesting info, and one of them already interviews him on a regular basis.

No he'll willing speak extensively on spacex, the issue is most people don't know shit all about anything related to rocketry let alone the somewhat unconventional shit they're pushing with starship. If you don't know anything you end up looking like all his upandcoming comedian friends he has on who'll bring up mma for some reason then struggle to engage with the subject beyond "haha jon jones/khabib/topuria is pretty crazy huh?" It's an issue of 99% of interviewers being wholly out of their depth on the subject, not one of personal secrecy. Well beyond the potential ITAR violations that Musk frequently accidentally pushes the envelope of when he happens to be talking to someone who has an understanding of launch hardware.
