I watched this today and cam out thinking why the fuck do I watch these. Its always the exact same story. Always one villain. Always a kid. The series really needs a knew direction like they take over a fucking city and run rampant not just a t rex, but the whole fucking lot of them. Absolutely destroy a city and a team has to get some people out.

The simple reason is that even after all these shitty sequels there's still only seven films, compared to 50+ superhero films in the last decade and a half. Dinosaurs are still a bit of a novelty, there's no other big budget dinosaur franchise.

Everybody likes dinosaurs, especially kids. I remember my buddy's kid was in preschool and couldn't tie his shoes but he could name all the dinos and pronounce their names correctly.

Check any of the threads asking what would win between JP, Superman and F4 and the consensus was largely that JP would win but get poor reviews, Superman would flop hard and F4 would flop less hard but still clearly a flop

The director of It Follows and Under the Silver Lake had a dino movie coming out this years but it got pushed back to avoid Jurassic World Rebirth.
