The Prophecy trilogy, with the war between angels in Heaven and Hell. With a bigger budget and scope it could have been epic.

The premise of the movie is both pronounced and layed out without needing to describe the plot in more than a few sentences.

Why do you think every simple movie concept with a completed story can somehow have tons of amazing sequels? Cube already did everything that could be done with it and concluded. Anything remotely popular is targeted to have some sort of follow-up that only loosely fits the word sequel. They're contrived, made up on the fly, and just there to barely satisfy the demand of "we like that thing and want a bit more"

Seconding this, I like movies when the bad guy wins, they are rare in the "high-concept" or also "death games" genre.

>>212386259
Nobody said Ghost in the Shell is high-concept. I would say Ghost in the Shell and things like Blade Runner are "high-concept plot" on a "broad setting"
I think OP is referring to "high concept plot" inside a "self contained setting"
After Cube ends, you can have more Cube movies, but you don't really need more Cube setting buildup.
With every new Ghost in the shell movie you also get more Ghost in the shell background buildup (I'm not sayings this is a bad thing)

The Triangle miniseries
All I can remember is a guy's brain getting melted by hoping dimensions
Kinda like 12 monkeys, but with alternate universes instead of time.
Guy starts losing his tracks of what's his "reality" because they all are
But that's all I remember about it so it may have filler
