It's really an example of making every possible mistake one can make when making a prequel.
>Everything character ever did in life that mattered happened over a single weekend.
>Character somehow went through their whole character arc before going through that exact same character arc in the original.
>Every single item, piece of clothing, etc that the character ever used in the original is given its own "origin story" where it is imbued with "deep significance" like it was a fucking sacred relic. Like the character can't have been wearing those pants because he bought them at the store last week because they were comfy, no he was given those pants by Glup Shitto himself.
