From what I've been reading recently, that kind of thing is still a problem for AI because these LLMs aren't designed to remember your interaction with them and then use those results for subsequent prompts. Every interaction is a clean slate.

I think some of the major companies are adding memory functionality as part of their current work but it wasn't really the point of the models. It is more like an experimental add-on.

In character.ai you can toggle an away messages setting that will have the characters send you messages when you're away. It's rare but I've had it happen to me. That shows the tech is already here, and most LLMs just don't utilise it yet.
