The death of cinema will be the death of movies as a popculture.

The death of White people is the death of cinema. There is a direct correlation between shrinking White population and culture/movies going down the shitter.

Been true from the beginning. You don't realize it's true because you're young, and you think about "old movies" all grouped in one bucket, and you're only seeing those that survived the filter. Zoomers and boomers watch movies by looking at their phone and barely listening to the film in the background.

The cinema experience has been garbage for almost 20 years. I walk into my nearest theater the other week and see this nonsense. Desperate merchandising is a sign of a dying industry.

Its both. Zoomies can't sit though back to the future without comparing it to Rick and Morty.>>212417073

It is easier to rattle off a list of good 70's or 80's movies than a list of good 2010's or 2020's movies and we're halfway through the decade so we should by your logic have half as much kino.

Some other anon will have to chime in with details but there were singular years with a shitload of good movies and now there really aren't.

That's obviously false. I am 39 and I remember multiple summer hits every year for years. Stuff that is still objectively better than the slop that they churn out now. The reason behind that is the over the top political messaging and the homo agenda being shoe horned into every aspect of life that even in mindless kino you can't escape it. It's over, it's not coming back, and that's a good thing

Stop with this idiotic meme. Zoomers are streaming good stuff like Squid Game, Severance, and Succession. Theyโ€™re also watching original movies like Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Menu, Nope, Poor Things, and Past Lives โ€” all made in the last few years. The real problem isnโ€™t that they canโ€™t sit through a whole movie; itโ€™s that most movies made today are boring, lazy, and creatively bankrupt. Even the remakes and sequels are all shite.

ALSO, Zoomers are often watching older media. Terminator 2 and Alien and Aliens are quite popular. As are series of golden era like Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men, the Shield are all still popular. Zoomers are also capable of enjoying old and new old games like Deus Ex, New Vegas, The Witcher 3, Baldurโ€™s Gate 3, and Expedition 33.

again, zoomers aren't the problem, Hollywood just sucks
SUCKS

There were a lot of bad movies, sure, but even then many could be enjoyable. Now there's so little creativity and it's instead endless contrived, decades-late sequels no one asked for.

The Death of Cinema happened before you even realized it. It was when theaters didn't want to pay or tried to mimic THX by just adding a ton of bass.

Modern theaters have terrible audio made for joggers and joggers adjacent (Who wear Beats by Dre)

Pretty much.. take whatever goes viral and push it farther by way of reaction videos and parody versions. I assume the event level movies, the oh everyone is talking about it etc pop culture event etc stuff?
That can still happen with streaming. Don't really need the cinema element. That's why Game of Thrones was a huge pop culture event when it was on it's first run. Still gets it quoted now

Mut 2/3 of youtube is talking about media (tv series, games and movies) or taking inspiration of media (like prank channels and stuff like beast games) or just reaction to the videos.

yes, but a fair percentage of them are unable to do so without being on multiple devices at the same time. It's fucking infuriating watching a film with younger people when they dick around on th eir phone the whole time, and then want to know what the fuck is going on.
Attention spans have been fried.
