i think it still had a lot of decent episodes up until they did the continuity seasons, and even those have some good jokes they just spread repeat them for 10 episodes

>>212419708 (OP) They sort of called out Kathleen Kennedy but not really. I guess that's something.
seasons 3-11(? whenever chef died) is an absolutely godly animated sitcom run. extremely funny with a great cast of characters. i put it up there with golden age simpsons and peak american dad.
once they became old the show became more hit and miss until it was nearly always miss, but what the fuck else can you expect from 50 year old men who have been swapping the same in jokes their whole lives? they said what they had to say
I'm super, thanks for asking All things considered, I couldn't be better, I must say I'm feeling super, no, nothing bugs me Everything is super when you're— Don't you think I look cute in this hat?
>>212419708 (OP) It's highly underrated as a piece of cultural propaganda, it did more to prolong Gen X-style aloof disengagement from politics than all other efforts combined.

>>212419708 (OP) I genuinely sympathize with the authors' views about mocking people who glorify pop-culture. I don't really find the early seasons' "gore, farts, remain childish" as entertaining as its later seasons that adhere to their episode's theme(s) better. It's a good show.
>>212419708 (OP) There are very few /tv/ related memories as comfy as me binging episodes of South Park on the Comedy Central website late at night on my Ipod after my parents went to bed.

>>212430985 It’s interesting how obvious it is that south park basically starts falling off a cliff after season 8. They still have some good or even great episodes after that, but season 9 is basically where it starts turning to shit. And it’s the same with the Simpsons mostly.

>>212426016 Writers got much lazier so they had jokes/arcs which lasted all season. Not only would they progressively become less funny, some of them like Randy getting a weed farm isn't funny to begin with.

>>212419708 (OP) It had a couple of legitimately great and relevant episodes around 1999-2004 when it peaked, you had to be there to experience it. They did manage to put out good episodes even after their peak, it never completely went to shit with a hard cutoff the way The Simpsons did.
>>212435807 >Bush's presidency mind broke them How? They were arguably at their peak during this time.

>>212426016 like 2-3 seasons after that they introduced PC Principal and the PC storyline. You can appreciate what they were trying to do, but it just wasn't funny. After that it was all Randy and Tegridy weed, which was not funny at all. They've switched from regular episodes to doing more, longer specials which have mostly sucked. the NSFW special was the worst thing south park has ever spit out
>>212430985 People shit on the first 3 seasons but there's so much gold in there. Show hit its stride around season 5 though. Scott Tenorman Must Die was the best thing to happen to Cartman's character, then seasons 7-8 were almost perfect

>>212426016 The season with the Trump Canada episode was when I stopped watching. I found it to be a very funny episode and the others from that season to be funny but I just lost interest, and that seems to have been the right move judging from what I've heard from those dedicated to the show.

>>212436584 >show went downhill once they started mocking Trump It did, but surprisingly and coincidentally it was not due to this. The Trump episode was one of the best later series episodes and that season was arguably the last good to great season.
>>212426309 This is a lie, no episodes were banned in the UK. The episodes that show the muzdog prophet no longer get shown, which applies globally because matt and trey pussied out.

>>212442326 And partial TDS. What possessed them to make an episode about Garrison-Trump when Trump wasn't even in office?!

>>212436246 As a 38-year-old man who did not attend public schools and has a lifestyle in the country, I find the "PC Principal" fratboy character extremely humorous. I like every episode he appears in. It seems so much of modern "woke" (and the people who lambast that) are convinced "politically correct" is something that only exists in the past decade and only because of social media.
