I hate streaming and i hate how it has become the norm. I want to buy a movie/show and actually fucking own it.

is it true streaming made films have less action scenes due to bitrates or something making it lag on stream? so they need to pad it out with talking to let it cool down before doing action scene again.
they also make everything dark for the same reason, it uses less bitrate.
a coworker told me this but it sounds like a lie and he has lied before. he said he got 100 dollars in mcdonalds coupons for complaining the ice cream machine was broke.

Total bullshit come on anon. Plenty of theatrical releases you can stream. Streamed movies are lower bitrate/quality

this only applies to video games that actually have to render and calculate actions

I just really miss picking something up at random at blockbuster because the cover looked cool, or flicking over to SBS at midnight for a couple of random foreign films (This is how I first saw Oldboy/The sympathy trilogy when I was like 14.)

Recently started getting the weirdest looking DVDs that I can find at the local thrifts and have found some great shit that I can't otherwise find any licensing or even torrents for.
