I expected the show to be pretty bad just from how bad the art style is and still got disappointed.
The things that happen in the show are just insane. Here is just one example

>he wants the woman to grow the mushroom
>woman flips out and tries to kill him demanding him to hand over the mushroom that they both want to grow
>he escapes
>woman proceeds to hunt him down and try to kill him
>woman eventually gets her hands on the mushroom and can grow it, something that both of them wanted to do in the first place, he literally came to her to give her the mushroom to grow
>they finally work together and grow it
>guy decides that they should give the mushroom away for free to random people because charging for it is evil
>she ties to kill him

The show is retarded. While it does the very generic pharma bad shit for 50% of episodes, it suddenly switches to pharma good and shows the pharma people as the good people who do more good than evil and they just want the magic mushroom so they can make miracle drugs.
The entire ''pharma bad'' commentary turns into pharma being bad only because they will pay people to literally kill you. They are bad because they pay men with guns to go out and kill people in public and that's it. All of it happens because a single high ranking pharma guy doesn't like the idea of curing illnesses and thinks life would lose purpose. The rest of the pharma guys in the later episodes get portrayed as heroes who just may be a little over their head.
All of the conflict comes from a single guy who just hates people getting healthy and who likes hiring armed thugs to stop people from getting healthy.

Show isn't quite brilliant, but it is very good. I'm latching onto the characters despite their obvious flaws and I'm invested in figuring out all of the little nuances of what the mushroom actually does. It also does just fine in the comedy department despite its more drama-oriented direction, there are some genuine loud laugh parts.

It's an animated thriller with plenty of nice moments of comedy and drama, and discusses the impact of an everything-cure on society from several angles. It doesn't just go "hurr hippie good big pharma bad", it discusses how both sides have their pros and cons. I'd say it's an 8 out of 10 at least.
The character design feels wrong at first and gives you the impression that this is another stoner show but you get used to it.
