>>212444265It feels like right around Wall-E/UP Pixar got a bit too maudlin and over the top with their attempts at spearfishing for emotions and sympathy. The way they blended themes and emotions in the prior movies was far more tasteful and nuanced, leaving a deeper impression. With these you could tell they were slamming it over your head, it was kind of the beginning of the end imo as it was no longer about the whole story more about indulging in emotional single moms.
