ITT: 90s action slop
Movies that were deemed retarded and uninspired then, but are filled with soul and fun by modern standards

90s cranked out a lot of action slop. Im guessing the b-tier movies are more appreciated today because of the practical effects and more black and white good vs. evil.

Yes, Assassins is kino. Something interested happened in my country. America made great kinos in the past, but they here deemed as flops, so the national television channels bought those kinos and showed to us here. We had great joy because of that.

Stories of heroic action have always been looked down on as low brow, but they are the only stories that are remembered and that are truly popular.

This has a reputation for being one of the worst films ever made. The screenplay is certainly terrible, but the production design and cinematography are extremely soulful and at times pretty good. Just look at that knockoff Blade Runner opening right at the start.

Those movies were genuinely enjoyed then, just like people took 30 years before getting tired of generic westerns before that. Very few people watched them "ironically".

The original had some shitty studio sets but at least crap like that had some soul. I bet the whole remake will be some green screen nightmare.

Really opened my eyes to how overblown Hollywood productions are.
