I never liked Xuxenegger as Conan, what other actor could we pump full of steroids to make him a better Conan the Barbarian?
Actors from any era.

he was like three feet tall, they'd have had to use a lot of camera tricks to make up for that

>a better Conan the Barbarian
not possible.
Arnold was the perfect brute that took the role seriously. Look at how fucking horrible Mamoa was. blegh.
Half of Conan the B was the dynamic pairing of
> Sandra Bergman
> Sven-Ole Thorsen
> Ben Davidson
not to mention including
> Max VonSydow
> Jimmy Earl Jones

NO ONE could do this double-lat flex scene besides Ahnahld

Correct, there has not been another actor that could have portrayed that role.

yeah, and it wasn't just Arnold. It was a cast of behemoth BODY BUILDERS. Those stories aren't as magnificent when cast with aerobics instructors

Conan from the books is quite different. And the idea of bodybuiler-swordfighter is quite ridiculous, not to mention that there were no steroids in pseudo-ancient times. The Rambo 2 physique is really pretty OK for Conan.

Tower of the Elephant is the perfect one to start with.
>young Conan, so you can have an up and coming actor with the trademark panther like physique, without people wondering why he looks so shrimpy compared to Arnold
>showcases his full set of talents from thievery to brawling
>demonstrates his barbarian standards of ethics
>has a good sword and sorcery balance of fantasy elements

Not with that Italian face and brown eyes. Arnold is good from the facial perspective though. It also possible to pick some modern blue-eyed Marvel and DC actors.

Which Marvel actors?
I've been thinking about it but I think I'd only tolerate Chris Pine from Star Trek...with a lot of juice.
And Kurt Russell
