I used to like Sopranos but then watched The Shield and I can't stomach an episode of it. Anyone else had this happen to them? One Shield episode had so much action and important stuff happening while entire Sopranos episodes are meandering subplots and slice of life crap. I felt embarrassed rewatching it.

LOST moggs every show ever created. Not only is it insanely rewatchable. It also was the last TV show that everyone spoke about and had their own home-grown theories about. Not found on the internet but just made up on the spot.

The show that came closest in terms of popularity was Game of Thrones, but it was only a fraction of a fraction as popular as LOST and because of the modern internet era most theories were just internet crafted and spread through social media which regular people just adopted instead of mulling things through on their own.

My boomer dad bought a fucking LOST xbox360 game and made me play it in the living room while my entire family was watching me play, just because they wanted to see the lore implications revealed in the game. They are the biggest normalfags ever.

People today can't even grasp the level of obsession the general public had for LOST. We will NEVER experience something like that again.

Most people that say things like that have not bothered trying to rewatch lost. I've rewatched it almost a dozen of times now ever since it finished. Usually when I date a new girl that hasn't seen it and not only are they universally impressed and hooked by the show. And then interweaving them in their ARG and the weird LOST magazine and the like. The other anon is correct in saying that there is just a surge in threads and popularity recently, most likely due to people only just getting around to watching it. The same thing happens with The Sopranos. This happens all the time.
