I watched it last night, I fucking hated it. The first hour+ was fucking unbearably boring. It was just black people casually saying the N word at each other, and the nonce the vampires finally showed up, it was fucking rushed as shit.

I don't know if there was a bunch of deep symbolism and shit that I was too stupid to miss, but I don't care, I told people this movie was supposed to be amazing and we all sat there bored, and that made me feel awkward and terrible for like 90 minutes

I went into it blind and knew absolutely nothing about it or the actors. Saw the previews but didn't make the connection that vampires were in it. When the vampires showed up I was WTF is this.

I hated the millennial soiboy "flavor" of the film. Like it just reeked of numale with all the cunnilingus, PG sex scenes, muh oppression bullshit, and the like. The plot was cool though.

Also watched last night, also shocked at how bad the film is compared to the hype. I'm not surprised that overtly anti-white movies written by black guys get praised these days, but the film is objectively a 5/10 at best. The tonal change felt hamfisted and was neither interesting or cool. The only two fun characters were the main vampire and the old blues guy so I didn't give a shit about the pointless interpersonal drama for any of the main cast (since half turn vampire right away anyway). The "music is le magic" throughline was literally never expounded upon in the second half of the film. The action scenes themselves were Marvel-tier bad.

Now I'm mad, so here's the trite ass symbolism
