Leon and Irma are characters right out of a cartoon show, not people. Suzie gets progressivley louder and more cartoonish as the series progresses.

I assume he got tired of the looser, more improvisational nature of the show and went full sitcom. It's pretty much impossible to keep a show consistently good across that many seasons, which Seinfeld understood, ironically.

Nah. Curb situations are way too outlandish and forced compared to Seinfeld. In Seinfeld "normal" situations usually spiral out of control because of George. In Curb they spiral out of control because nobody acts normal to begin with.
