The artificial sets were used sparingly in his earlier films. The stories and characters feel more realistic because of this.

That's the only good thing about GBH. Cinematography and direction are on point. It's shot well and the are some cool blends of live action and stop motion. Look at the some of the behind the scenes. The story and characters are dogshit boring, run of the mill twee, and uninspired which is why I hate it.
TRT has great characters, ones that you actually feel for and that instantly recognizable Wes direction before he went too far. Got that, Coltrane?

I liked Rushmore when it came out when i was in the 8th grade or so, but never liked a single other Wes Anderson movie that came out after that. I’d have to go back to Royal Tenenbaums, didn’t like it when I was a teen when it came out but maybe I’d like it better now who knows I really don’t remember much it of it today.
