the only thing the bank knows about the son is that he is related to the father. they give him the loan based on that alone. that's where the definition comes in (good 'ol boy)
this is why a lot of fathers who own homesteads like these (at least before they die) take out loans in their own names to finance the son having his own place on the father's land. the father or whatever male ancestor who built their lives were always the reliable ones.
