the second one was more politically minded rather than combat focused. dealing with corruption of the system and shit.
apparently the director didnt like how the public responded so well to nasimodo(sp?) the main character, who is basically a fascist that takes things into his own hands. but that was dumb of him to expect that he wouldve be beloved, because he's killing a bunch of favela drug dealers who everyone hates.
the director was basically wanting to paint it that both police and drug dealers are bad, and that violence isnt the answer. but the violent cathartic nature of the movie feels good, and seeing drug dealers die violently feels good. which the lefty directory supposedly didnt want. but thats all pretty strange because its so good in its tactical shooting and realism.
i could be making all this up
