Very good, I liked pretty much every aspect of it. I went in with high expectations because I liked Talk to Me, and it exceeded them.
I have only one real gripe with it, and that's pacing. But everything else was quite good, the horror, the cinematography, the ideas, the acting, the sound design of course.

Agreed. Only thing that got me is the suspension of disbelief needed to accept the brother's lack of reaction to Sally Hawkins' blatant boundary crossing. I can accept the first 30 minutes of the movie, where a newly orphaned kid finds himself in a new home with a new unknown person and is initially not sure how to react at her lack of boundaries. But that wouldn't last long, after like 2-3 days of her relentlessly shitting all over you and obviously acting unhinged, you'd realize this isn't just a slightly cookie lady, but a full-blown sociopath.

>>212477451
It's worse, they're Youtubers, basically in the same content category as the Paul brothers. Just pick any video on their channel and try to make it more than 30 seconds before throwing your computer out the window. The movie is pretty good, though.

>ugly child is ...scary!
Plot was extremely predictable.

>silly woman
The villain, but actually misunderstood and you must feel bad for her.
>white older guy who shows off his penis to children
Evil child beater who wants to Woody Allen his Asian daughter.
>said ugly ass Asian daughter
Immunized against all dangers.
>white male main character
Impotent, emasculated and redeems his whiteness by dying to ... well actually he just died, he didn't rescue anyone, the brave and smart Asian saved herself through kick ass and fierce screaming "Mum!" once.

I can tell you didn't watch it because you're talking about a "white older man" who genuinely isn't even in the film for more than 15 seconds because he dies right at the start.
I am indeed mad, I don't like people who didn't watch a movie shitting up threads about it with incel ragie. This movie isn't to blame for your loneliness.

>who genuinely isn't even in the film for more than 15 seconds
Literal NPC who just watches a movie without absorbing what's happening on screen
His penis was visible for 15 seconds but the story implication was far longer and more important to the other male lead's character
And he was still acting when he played the corpse in the coffin which the male child refused to kiss
Pathetic and embarrassing

The movie was great, thematically and aesthetically connected to Talk to Me but executed way better. Honestly one of my favorite horror films of all time. Writing was great, actors were great, it was sufficiently spooky and brutal, and most importantly it didn't go off the rails or fall apart at any point. 8.5/10

It was good. Not scary at all, but it was fun.
It's nice to see a film where you aren't completely sure how it's gonna end, even more than midway through it. And they didn't explain every little thing, there was no scene with the brother going to the library to research that odd marking he found or that weird thing the bald kid was chanting.

Tried to enjoy it but couldn't due to the realism of Sally Hawkins being an evil child abusing kikette. Wonderful acting but should be labelled as a documentary imo, it captured the tribe's demon matriarch archetype perfectly, almost too perfectly. Of course every single person murdered or brutalized in the movie is white and the little bug gets off scot-free. icky

I thought it was really good.
Protagonist was a raging psycho and gaslighting cunt. The story was unique enough to make it interesting and the gore was good enough to elicit a verbal reaction.
Compared to the vast majority of movies coming out it was a breath of fresh air in a fart filled broom cupboard.

This is by far my biggest problem the movie. Sally Hawkins character is completely heartless, she at this point has tortured two children, stuck a demon in one of them with plans to kill him later, killed another child, and killed one of her good friends. And she just gives up when she has won?

A better ending still wouldn't make it as good as Talk to Me. The horror elements in Bring Her Back are weak. The whole scene with the kid trying to eat the counter feel like they were just thrown in there because the directors remembered they were supposed to be making a horror movie at the last second.
