has a movie aged as good as this in the past?
I remember it being kind of mediocre when it came out but upon rewatching the bluray version on my 77" 4k oled tv with surround sound it's actually insanely good wtf

Gunn fans aren’t the new counterculture, they’re the new Justin Beiber. Snyder’s punk rock as hell, man. You see Superman punch Zod through an IHOP building? Hell yes. Hashtag Epic.

It's a very tight movie, but it has a few really weird choices that bring it down, like Pa Kent insisting that saving people is wrong and stoically dying for it. It's baffling how no one read the script and thought it was a bizarre decision. I also don't mind Superman killing Zod, but I think the execution could have been done a bit better. Maybe show how important lives are for Superman, so killing Zod is a real dilemma. And maybe not make Zod as suicidal. That nigga wanted to die. What did he think he was achieving by trying to kill some random civilians?

>What did he think he was achieving by trying to kill some random civilians?
I think you misunderstood the film. He was going to kill every last human on Earth. One by one, and he was getting stronger and more capable as he adapted to Earth's atmosphere.
>but it has a few really weird choices that bring it down, like Pa Kent insisting that saving people is wrong and stoically dying for it.
The point is to shatter the idealism that Superman fans like to cling to. They explain it in BvS.

"While I was eating my hero cake, their horses were drowning." The idea is that Pa Kent as a boy saved the farm by working all night to build a dam. And it sent the water downstream and killed every horse at the Lang Farm. Pa Kent is terrified of the prospect that Clark's desire to do good could launch the world into a destructive spiral. This is why Perry White kills the Superman story Lois is working on. What if there is a Superman? Then the world is going to implode.

>He was going to kill every last human on Earth.
I absolutely got that, but trying to kill that family at the end made no sense, because all he was achieving with that was forcing Clark's hand to kill him. It was pretty retarded, desu. You would think the guy would have some sense of self preservation. Surviving the battle so he later on can continue with his plan. But no. The guy had such a boner for killing people non stop that he had to try to kill those people even if it meant he was going to die for it. I'm not against it happening though. Just didn't like the execution. Felt very movie-logic.

He told Clark that either Superman kills him, or he kills everyone.
>You would think the guy would have some sense of self preservation.
Not at all. His entire purpose is to help Krypton, and Krypton is gone. He gave a whole speech about it and everything.

There are pretty good fancuts out there of Snyder's dc movies that both highlight their strengths and remove a lot of their deficiencies. Some are also good at being more accurate to the characters as well.

I remember kind of liking it when I was 15 and watched it on my Nokia phone over 10 years ago, but back then I didn’t know anything about Superman. Nowadays, as a DC nerd, I’m kind of afraid to rewatch it.

Man of Steel is remarkable in how it just gets worse every time I watch it. I liked it the first time I watched it and now at best I'll watch some of the fight scenes on youtube.

it's too fucking slow and unevenly paced. it's 2 hours of superman finding himself followed by 30 minutes of nonstop destruction
