>Wait until the reviews comes in
>Ok the reviewers on twitter stating their reviews are all fanboys, wait until the actual movie critics from actual film and pop culture media outlets come in
>Ok Metacritic doesn't count wait until Rotten Tomatoes reviews come in
>Rotten Tomatoes critics are all paid shills, the audience score is what matters
>Of course the audience score is big everyone who'll have seen it early will be Superman or DC fanboys, wait until the box office!

What's after box office?

>$225M budget
kek
That means it needs $450M+ to break even, but then you factor in ads + marketing + theater payment + salaries + the numerous troublesome reshoots, and it's well north of $600M in actuality. It'll barely make back on its budget & WB will write it off as a failure due to the fact they're teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. However much it makes won't matter. DC will be sold off.

Somehow Captain Marvel made 1 billion, still they made a signal as if the first movie was a disaster. To this day I can't believe anything was real about that pile of crap, except Brie's boobs.

That said, it's not impossible for Superman be a huge hit despite being shit, picrel made nearly 900 millions.

It was the time where every Marvel did well. Pretty sure Captain Marvel convinced Disney they can go full DEI on the MCU and everyone would lap it up like it's Iron Man 1.

Because it was riding on the coattails of the lead up to Endgame, hyped beyond belief (also Disney buying their own tickets). Part of the reason why The Marvels failed, despite being woke, was due to the lack of an Avengers movie in the near future.

I don't know, I have a friend that work at a cineplex, he said they have a ton of empty sessions for Captain Marvel, same for Black Panther. To this day I think Marvel did a lot to the numbers for these two movies, but like you said it was at their peak, I may be wrong.

Captain Marvel and Black Panther were at a time where people watched every Marvel and the fatigue of mediocre Marvels hadn't set in yet. Sadly those two movies are far better than Cap4 or Thunderbolts.

So the film is currently tracking for about $500m ww. Higher than I'd have liked, high enough to pretend it's a success, but definitely still a low amount considering everything.
Shills WILL try and pretend that that makes it the greatest success story ever.

Closer to $800m budget actually. It's probably the first movie with a $1b+ budget. Let's face reality, a movie like this, with a budget of $1.4b, needs at least $5b to break even.

It's less than MoS from over a decade ago, before adjusting for inflation. And that's less than Reeves' Batman. I'm sure it will be spun as a win, but that's not a very encouraging result.

It is ok, it's 400 million dollars. People think anything less than 1bi is a disaster, they need to spend less in these movies and accept that anything from above 300 million is an amazing result.

Now, if the report that this movie budget was indeed $363 million they are totally fucked. Which isn't that far from the official numbers since $225 million + marketing should be pretty close, in that case $400-500mi is a flop.

The rag dolling and Superman just standing there is too much.
There is a lot of this in the movie in general. Gunn needs someone there to tell him to dial shit back a little. You can make his humor work if you just donโ€™t let it overstay itโ€™s welcome.
