Which is why it's perfect for kid's to self-insert into the world because the rules about how / why certain witches / wizards are more or less powerful from one another are never clearly established. Doing so would've only cheapened the power fantasy for the young readers and it's one of J.K. Rowling's best creative decisions imo. She knew her target audience and what they'd enjoy about the setting (the idea of secretly being very powerful themselves).
