Why tf is this POS 7.3 on IMDb? Literally nothing scary about it. A24 fell off hard.

I tentatively gave Talk to Me a chance even after seeing the nigger was the main character. Watchable but very predictable. This was a complete mess and a miss.

Unironically because picrel is cute af despite her disabilities. Also giving a role to someone with basically no acting experience that actually has a disability. Hollywood/a24 whatever needs to start casting more Asians instead of blacks. Americans have black fatigue, but even the racist southerners I grew up around that would make fun of Asians would still watch crouching tiger and shit.

why does a horror movie need to be """SCARY""""? genuine question. all scary means 99% of the time is startled. nothing on screen is actually ever scary in the sense of being afraid, it's just tension and startling. this movie had cool shit in it, nice gore and effects, a decent plot although some of it made no sense (how did the lady keep her kid in a freezer, the authorities would have come for her after she died and didn't show up for school or anything for weeks, friends ask questions etc, you cant just hide your dead daughter like that. also why did the guy leave his phone fucking unlocked on the bed when he got up 5 seconds after defensively holding it away from the lady? abd how did she drown him in fucking 5 seconds, he could have easily just moved away that puddle was tiny, she's a fucking old lady you're a 17 yr old who lifts weights, just beat her up wtf

He just got hit by a large car. He was near death and needed medical attention, the drowning just finished him off.

thats another thing the other lady clearly got hit and he like jumped out of the way, i was so surprised to see him even on the ground and bloody. and then when he 'died' i was like oh this is so obvious he just pretended to drown to placate her pathetic attempt to drown him so he can save the day in the next scene. nope lmao

>Wong was born with coloboma and microphthalmia, leaving her with limited sight.
Yes, but I think it's exaggerated in the movie

This was somehow even more predictable, zero twists or anything like that, and like the OP mentioned they forgot to make a fucking horror movie

Imagine being scared by horror as an adult man, instead of appreciating the atmosphere and filmmaking.

It's a weird category, some people (maybe rightfully) still treat it as a 5D mall amusement ride, but you can't ignore a huge emerging subgenre that doesn't promise you to SCARE you as much as disturb / weird out / creep out.
And it's as much if not more valid.

People that prefer the former are midwits. It's the latter that is reserved for the upper and lower Bell curves

The American mind craves short intense fleeting excitement.
The horror threads on here are all terrible.
If the chuds hate it, it'll be good.
