I really liked the first few seasons, but the later ones left such a bad taste in my mouth I can’t even rewatch them.

if you are familiar with Breaking Bad's episode The Fly the only reason it exists is because this episode was set to air at the same time as the Lost finale. and Lost was in fact the biggest show on the planet at the time. this was before streaming, so if two shows were airing at the same time you could only see one and miss the other. so the BrBa showrunners knew people will tune in to Lost's finale and they didn't want their audience to miss anything significant so they were forced to make a kind of filler episode that didn't progress the story
