I don't have too much difficulty buying it. Becoming gigarich can be spaced out over years without impacting anything, and the island base construction would be sped up significantly with his level of tech. The biggest time consumption would be killing the supers, because even in the movie it takes a while from when Bob destroys his first Omnidroid and gets wrecked by the second. On the other hand, there were plenty of supers in that montage who died to their first encounter which is a lot quicker timescale.
