I preordered tickets earlier today at my theater and very few seats were sold. usually these theaters are sold out by now for capeshit.

Same with mine. And there is more showings then typical movies because it’s only two hours so they’re able to flip it every three

It's noteworthy to point out that the movie came out a tuesday rather than a thursday. So it's going to have 2 days extra over the other films in the first week.

We'll have to see were the dial lands, but I'm guessing that won't be until the beginning of august.

The first 48 hours are incredibly important, including early reviews. That's actually how most companies measure success

I went last night. There were more people than I anticipated.
Not sold out, but a pretty sizeable crowd.

It's a popular theater in a major metropolitan area, usually most screenings for big movies are already packed at this point. If people haven't already bought their tickets I doubt they will now.

Every raimi spiderman was sold out the first weekend around here, to the point where we had to try several different theaters and when we finally got tickets the bulb broke so no movie. I was actually expecting a good turn out on this but i guess people are just too broke and atomized. These arent American movies the world can enjoy any more, they are Globohomo slop that took for granted the American market for far too long

I don't think it'll flop but it will underperform what WB probably wants seeing how big the marketing push is.

Those numbers are very close to The Batman which is what I expect it will end up close to be. 700-750 million. Which would make it the highest grossing Superman

Smurfs and Fantastic Four will tear off Superman's legs. Plus the political backlash due to Gunn's comments should take away 30 % of its box office numbers. Superman will underperform or bomb. It won't make Batman numbers.

Most people these days just watch stuff on streaming sites. Netflix started the trend of streaming anything and everything and when other studios put out their streaming services they also streamed their movies. So people will just wait a while until.the new film is on the streaming service.

Emergency Awesome video onnwhat is killing Marvel movies.

Really long video essays where a film guy tries to figure out what is killing movies and movie theaters. Haven't finished watching the video.
