Well "happy" is a bit of a vague term. A drug addict might describe themselves as happy even if deep down they're suffering. Swedenborg wrote volumes and he thought the bible was truly the word of God and that reading it and learning from it was extremely important, so much so that he learned Hebrew and Greek to study it better.

I do know that with the lake of fire imagery, he suggested that "fire" when talked about in the bible refers to "love". Heaven is described as being firey as well. There's heavenly fire and hellish fire, but both are fire. Swedenborg says this is two different loves. It's not a material fire like we have in the material world.
