The company hasn’t demonstrated any ethical handling of affairs. Dying and giving them the queen is the ultimate cuckery.
>okay, I’m going to die, receive nothing and in exchange I’ll provide you with a source of potential wealth, immortality, etc.
Nah fuck that.

Like what? How to turn blood into acid? What part of the xenomorph biology is actually worth all the fucking trouble Weyland Yutani goes through to get one? It always annoyed me that they handwave away what exactly makes this murderous rape alien worth studying, the best you get is in Romulus when it turns out you can (sort of) reverse engineer xenomorphs to get black goo that could theoretically rewrite your genes to make you immortal

Alien 3 is a Ripley hyper-sleep nightmare and is
non-canon.

Alien 4 is... odd...

I don't really hate it as much as I kind of hate it as an alien movie. It's also such a product of it's time in a bad way.

But, I will take a mediocre high concept movie over a boring but technically good movie

Extremely based. I've no idea what they have against proper conclusions like this. A perfectly fine ending, and not a "happy ending" like disinguous critics whine. The mission was a disaster, everyone died, and Ripley barely managed to save a couple people whole ready to die trying. That's worth letting their characters rest and picking up years later with someone new.

They fucked up by letting Alien 3 do what it did instead of pulling a Predator 2 and using some new cast. Instead Alien 3 ran the train into a brick wall it's never recovered from. They randomly figure fans only watch for Ripley and made some shit up to slop onto the screen for Alien 4.

Seriously: why would Ridley set up Covenant to do exactly the same "she wins but then she le dies at the start of the next movie" thing YET AGAIN?! It has never worked and no one ever likes it. But he wants to act like it's some beloved part of the Alien franchise now?

Alien 3 is a weird kino for me. I can understand why people dislike it, but it has a very strong atmosphere.
This forgotten quality to it.
Similar to JP3 for me.
Like visiting a place you used to hangout with friends at as a kid, but no one goes there anymore.

I think he was at a loss at what to do after Prometheus turned out to be so subpar.
But honestly ripping off the script of AvP wasn't a good sign. Prometheus probably could have been good as its own film, but fucking up the Alien lore kind of wrecked it.

It's wild that he'd try to make up such a huge story on the fly. I'd have expected him to have the whole trilogy thoroughly planned out before starting. But I guess they convinced him to put out some mysterious stuff and worry about answers later

I love resurrection, it's fun slop where 3 was just depressing slop. Some scenes are genuinely great too.
