Why is it already forgotten? It's easily the best movie of 2025

Because it's a huge disappointment. If you were at all a fan of the previous 2 movies then you basically need to turn it off once you get past the opening scene. Because everything after that does nothing but bore and disappoint.

Porn addicted freaks hyperfocused on the alpha's giant game penis and made it awkward to talk about enjoying the film. We also found out who's directing the next one and optimism is gone

can only discuss the saville gang so many times, other than that the film is pretty cut and dry despite blatantly being the first part of some type of trilogy itself.

The edits about the alpha dick were probably better than the movie itself. Did anyone see the superbad one?

The first movie is amazing, the 2nd one is what you are describing. 28 Years was all over the place but in a kind of fairytale way that I really enjoyed. To answer OPs question, rated R horror movies don't get much traction if there's no word of mouth, and this film is too British and too normie-filtering to go full mainstream.

28 Weeks was dopey, but at least it knew what people came for. Unabashed rage zombies running around fucking shit up. It kept up the pacing enough to not let it be too distracting. This was like some coming of age story in the shire, wandering around fields, with the occasional token video game variant zombie or zombie cock. It was just fucking boring. Then shit like the Power Rangers at the end, the rage zombie giving birth, just lots of ridiculous shit.

Most of the posts on this board are autistic screeching about current thing. 28 years later was the main release a couple of weeks ago so the meltdowns were about that. Some of them were completely retarded - "how can you have a pregnant zombie in a zombie movie" which shows that it's just screeching for the sake of it.

The current movie is something else and you can see people having full on arguments in multiple threads about things no one gives a shit about except the neurodivergent.

Another movie will come along in two weeks.

I genuinely don't believe it's shills unless someone else pays for people to hate the current movie. No one could care enough - the pregnant zombie panic attacks were from one poster over multiple threads until I pointed out this was a common zombie trope. It's just this board is a cesspool for cretins with no long term memory so you can't have normal discussion.

>It's just this board is a cesspool for cretins with no long term memory so you can't have normal discussion.
This is depressingly true. I watched a movie and went to discuss it afterwards, and every criticism was something directly answered in the movie. Not even subtly, the characters fully explained it. It was sobering to see how retarded the average poster is now

I liked it. I found comfort in the macabre, third act in particular. I found the first acts tension quite palpable. I found myself questioning and guessing a lot of what 28years could do to a fast-mutating super virus. I found the idea that they evolve the hosts intriguing. It's not Resident Evil level of fantastical, so I wasn't pulled out of it.

>fairy tale
I liked the aspect of thar be giants in them hills, and the traditional coming of age trial and celebration built into the story and setting, especially the sprinting back sequence. i liked the set-back civilization vs primal aspect. Lingering on the dichotomy of the pain and fear of death juxtaposed with an inexplicable newborn life. Ending was cool imo, left me feeling both worried and hopeful. Looking forward to it continuation 8/10

There's pretty much no good or iconig 21st century cinema, the vast majority of it is forgettable unoriginal garbage, at best you'll once in a blue moon find an oasis of mediocrity. I saw it in the cinema and thought it was merely okay but that means it's like a masterpiece by modern standards.

I don't think the drama after the first act (with Spike turning on his dad) felt more contrived and put-of-the-blue than the soldiers showing up in the first film. It is jarring at first but when I saw it the second time I kind of didn't bar an eye.

I didn't watch 28 years comparing it to the first two in mind because I hadn't seen them in decades. I remember liking them a lot but in my autistic brain just the titles as well as the time between releases imply there's a large enough gap there that this one deserves a chance to stand on its own legs. The intro was all that was really needed to catch us up on any relevant backstory plot, Jimmy as a character doesn't matter until the end, and I couldn't fucking read the carving in that one infected's back. I did catch the graffiti but still, I'm focused on Spike, as the movie clearly wants me to
I just wish we had more time to dwell, and Spike showed more indecision being 12 and all. Jamie still clearly loved him as shown when they found the baby on the gate, and Spike just abandoned everything because he got slapped and saw his dad trying to move on

There's not that much to talk about whether you thought it was good or not desu
If the original came out today it would probably be "forgotten" by /tv/ in the same amount of time
