You are. It's both marketing firms and reddit taking it up as their culture wars flagship. Something similar happened to that extremely faggy Superman show on Adult Swim, exact same playbook but on a smaller scale.

I think it is a really bad blockbuster and a pretty ordinary film. Like most of the MCU. I don't think they all need to be but I think starting your new vision and you have one of the most iconic recognisable characters of all time for it only to be as good as like the first Thor movie is pretty lousy, especially when superman himself is like this elevated being of goodness. But I don't think that any conversation about it here is going to be worth having. Too many shills on either side who already made their minds up. I actually doing think there has been good superman media since Superman Returns. Which I know is bad but I'd say it's on par with this one but Routh was a much more engaging and thoughtful superman. I think Cavil would have been a great superman but he's never been in a good superman film.
