It's a condo, a very expensive one in the middle of New Jersey. Why would a character like him want to live in a big house out of the city? He likes it because it has his stuff and it's close to work

What the actual fuck, in America you can't own a house or apartment? This makes no sense. You should end your own culture. Also, do you spell "axe" without the "e"? I have seen inconsistent answers but that would be retarded.

No it's not, Uber is a company. In any case, it's still a car, it just happens to be an Uber car in that case.

Do me another one: in TV shows, Americans are always fired by someone telling them "get your things, you're fired". Is that actually a legal way to fire someone in America?

Yes, this is called "at will" employment, they can tell you to fuck off at any time, and since you're now fired, you're not allowed to work or be in the building anymore so that you don't sabotage something, so you're "escorted out" (thrown out) by security immediately.

Surely American employment contracts are required to have a minimum notice period before employment can be terminated by either party? And you get a certain amount of annual leave that you can take, and if you don't get to take it you get paid it out at the rate of your ages?

I'm not European, and we can get another job here, but even being out of a job for a month can be crippling. That's thousands of dollars lost and totally out of your control. How are you supposed to run a family and get a mortgage knowing you could be turfed out without warning?
