As a 32 year old man myself the thought of 19 y.o. predatory girl ghost comes to you, seducing you, and even make you have sex with her is so horrifying that I literally had to play vidya for 8 hours straight to get rid of that thoughts away from my head after reading that novel

As a kid this legitimately scared me so bad I couldn't watch it. I just watched the Japanese version and this version again and it was completely fine. Still a little nervous in the well scene but it's because you don't know what will happen, less scary when you do. Heard people saying the 4th kind is terrfying but it was nothing to me. I guess only Sinister made me a bit uncomfortable.
