I'm still mad that spielberg made him a reddit grandpa in the film instead of the inhuman villain he was supposed to be

It made it more kino. The petticoat lane scene with Ellie is probably one of the best parts of the movie after rewatching it. Hammond brought the kids for the purpose of showing how the park is made for kids, but because he also loves them and wants them to see it first hand. He just wanted to give people an experience unlike any other and not just another flea circus. Too bad shit got all fucked up and he tried to go into denial about it. It's a lot more tragic watching an old mans dream turn into a crumbling nightmare.

If you just want a generic old profit-driven bad guy story, watch any of the new Jurassic World movies. They all literally have one.

Neither of you have read the book or you’d have made a more substantive post rather than hoping someone who has will ride to your rescue.
I was planning on doing so myself, but you two seal horking faggots changed my mind.

I agree partially but Hammond cheaping out on the programmer is such a batshit stupid character flaw that clashes with the rest of his personality
