Looking back, it seems it.
But honestly, for the time, they were exactly the level of intelligence of most ordinary boomers. Only difference was they swore a lot and murdered people. It was complete boomer fantasy - regular upper middle class suburbanites, but would also randomly murder people for disrespecting them and wore nice suites and drove luxury cars.

For younger generations watching it now, sure, they all seem completely retarded. But that's actually what boomers were like at their prime.
