Most 7/10 movie I’ve ever seen. The good parts are very good, the bad parts are annoying and cringy
Good:
>First black superhero/side character that’s actually cool and badass since Blade.
>Guy Gardener as Green Lantern is cool even if he doesn’t do too much
>Perfect casting for Lex Luthor, Superman, and Louis Lane. Never felt like anyone was out of place.
>good action scenes that aren’t boring to watch. You can follow what’s going on easily there’s not constant shit flying at you on screen to disorient you.
>Superman himself is perfectly characterized: A Paladin of Justice who’s a big softie at heart, but is willing to fight and die to defend the weak.
Bad
>special effects ranged from decent to bad. It’s clear they got the bargain bin Indian effects artists for this movie. Pretty sure I’ve seen better effects from 2008 movies. Metamorphos baby is particularly horrible.
>80% of the jokes don’t land. There’s mercifully a lack of cringe Marvel-esque quips, but the jokes that are there aren’t anything that hasn’t been seen or done before.
>Certain pieces of dialogue are cringeworthy like Superman moralizing how he’s “just as human as Lex and makes mistakes” as if he’s not a God by comparison to most mortals. Could have been written way better to get the same point across.
>Skyler Gisondo as a playboy Jimmy Olson is completely unbelievable and ridiculous, the dude looks like he’s a 14 year old twink. The scenes with him and Eve are stupid as hell.
>>212576886 (OP)>>First black superhero/side character that’s actually cool and badass since Blade.I refuse to believe this is a real post. Bot or you used a.i to write a shitty review.
>>212576970It’s a bad joke. I’m not going to watch 5 different interviews to find out that Gunn intended for it to be tongue in cheek. Within the context of the movie it’s annoying and takes away from it
>>212577026>Within the context of the movieit's a joke within the context of the movie, autist
>>212577011No, suck my fat dick retard.
>>212576886 (OP)>Most 7/10 movie I’ve ever seeI agree. And 7/10 isn't bad. For me the worst part was Krypto, he undercut just about every scene, and best part; overall this is arguably the best live action Lex for me.
The girls in this movie were nice too. Moner was ironically extremely disappointing
>>212577267Krypto is clearly placed in there for small kids and “heckin pupper” dog people to get invested in the movie. He overstays his welcome after the Fortress of Solitude
Why does gun always portray woman as useless vapid whores
>>212577480Go watch Ironheart or something
>>212577415if you tripfag on /tv/ your opinions already have no value and you're a massive fucking faggot
>>212577480The movie is heavily inspired by silver age comics.
It's not even a 5. Story written by and for broccoli heads, all over the place, superman is a jobber in his own movie that is supposed to set the tone for the new DCU (no thanks), abysmal cgi, action sequences look like a ps5 game. This is worse than Green Lantern. Reynolds must be laughing his ass off right now.
>>212577026you have to be autist to not realize this. Lois even has a line boggled that Jimmy can pull so many hot girls.
>>212578299Kek you won't present it because you can't get hard and you have a small dick loser. inb4 N-NO U
>>212577480Because he's a Troma guy. Tits and asses are what people like to see so he puts it up on glorious Imax screens.
The question you have to ask yourselves is will anyone be talking about this movie 10 years from now?.
>>212576886 (OP)>Skyler Gisondo as a playboy Jimmy Olson is completely unbelievable and ridiculous, the dude looks like he’s a 14 year old twink.Thats the joke. Probably gives good dick
>>212578848nobody is going to be talking about it a week from now
Liked the writing for Supes and Lex a lot but feel like the movie overall won’t age well at all. Too many lazy jokes and action scenes with no weight or stakes to them. I can’t see threads being made about it on /tv/ years from now like for Batman v Superman.
>>212578848Do people still talk about The Suicide Squad or any of the GOTG movies? No.
Well actually to be fair we’ll probably get many “who is the best Supes” threads for the first time like we’ve already gotten with Batman and Spider-Man.
Just got back from watching it, I thought it was great! It kept a good pace, action was creative and dynamic, characters weren't terribly deep, but didn't really need to be as they had a lot of personality and were well acted across the board. Just a really fun theater experience overall.
>>212576886 (OP)>Certain pieces of dialogue are cringeworthy like Superman moralizing how he’s “just as human as Lex and makes mistakes” as if he’s not a God by comparison to most mortals. Could have been written way better to get the same point across.I guess you could say Superman... made a mistake
I liked the dialogue. Superman should be earnest, sincere, and naive.
If he makes people cringe that's a good thing. Modern society has become too jaded. Superman is supposed to be a boyscout anyway.
I really liked it. The Justice Gang was little much but I liked everyone. The Superman and Lex dynamic was handled really well. Weirdly the sincere dialog scenes actually were more interesting than the cgi action or the whacky bits.
>>212580285That's what happens when you hire an actor to play Superman instead of a supermodel.
>>212578994>Do people still talk about The Suicide SquadThe Gunn Suicide Squad film is one of the only modern films that I feel good about having watched. When people ask for recommendations it comes to mind.
>>212580014He’s not naive and shouldnt be. Biggest misconception about the character
>>212580735TSS was horrible
>>212577480Ironically the vapid whore (Lex's girlfriend) ended up being useful while Lois Lane, the famous journalist, didn't really accomplish anything.
