The emotional ending is he rejecting any tie to his biological parents because the film reveal Jor-El is actually a evil figure who send Superman with messages to turn him into a conqueror who would rape human woman to resurrect Krypton. In the current political climate, the film pushes for a hyper assimilationist message when the current Inmigration Culture War of the 2020s is about modern immigrants rejecting hyper-assimilation.
