Theaters don’t make money lol. They need to be in big buildings so the property taxes and rent are expensive and increase every year and concessions also don’t make that much. Mine was Rise of Skywalker. My theater did a New Years Eve showing so the movie ends at 11:00 they cart out beer and champagne and then you watch the ball drop. Me and my buddy sneaked in whiskey and got plastered and the entire audience as shitting on the movie

I remember 5 years ago there was a luxury theater that opened by me with beds and massage chairs and standard tickets were $15 and that was considered a lot. I bet they are $50 now
