He is not a bad director but was a bad choice for a Superman movie. His style only works for grimdark edgy comics

Warner Brothers wanted The Dark Knight, but with Superman. That's the only reason why Man of Steel exists. And Snyder delivered. He gave us an emotionally complex Superman in a realistic world.

Not only does Superman deal with his own identity through his two fathers, but he also learns the concept of justice. There's a lot more going on in Man of Steel than most other capeshit films.

yeah he doesn't suffer for mistakes other people make by listening to him. must be nice.

the only interesting thing about Man Of Steel is whether Nolan's outline might have worked with a better director and writer (because David S Goyer is another consistently worthless twat).

He approached superman with idea based on reality of "what if" aliens is real and they revealed themselves to human and i think it's pretty good take because usually people assume supes is good guy but in reality people don't really trust superman figure especially if he's a superpowered alien

Iโ€™m surprised grim dark superheroes werenโ€™t more of a success, itโ€™s quite strange how that juxtapositions, I wonder if itโ€™s the same fanbase that loves grimdark which also loves bright colorful upbeat superhero films? Or are they completely different. Grim dark is really popular for just about any fiction or fantasy style medium from video games to tv and film. I personally canโ€™t stand it but I am pretty well aware of its existence, I think it harkens back all the way to the 90s as an example. Which kind of reminds me of Spawn which is super grim dark but yet also a superhero.

Itโ€™s funny because in the comics
I donโ€™t think superheroes are so bright, colorful and cheery, but it sames to coincide with the MCU.
