the first six seasons are great imo, season 7 has the first bad episode with "Frank's Brother", but even after that most episodes are still good until like season 10.

1-6 is normal people with a TV show(minus devito) and 7- The Rest is rich people with a tv show. Same thing happened when Letterman went from NBC to CBS. Once you get all that money you forget what’s funny. Rich people problems doesn’t really produce great content. There are some good episode post 7. Some really good ones in fact, but it never returns to form. I don’t blame them, I’d cash out too.

season 7 is easily my favorite. franks brother is bad, yes, but the rest of the episodes are gold
macs fat arc, the doctor visit with dennis, the baby funeral, Cricket getting caught in the basement, the high school reunion.. so much memorable kino packed into a season
