What ever happened to this guy? He was Hollywood’s new untouchable auteur filmmaker just a few years ago

Nothing. All of his movies have been successful. So he's still in Hollywood's good favor. He's probably working on a new movie. I read that he fired his agent or some shit because he lost the bidding war of a horror movie script.

that was one movie man. horror sucks anyway, I couldn't care less. Funny enough the last ones I saw were from him and Infinity Pool. Brandon Cronenberg does not live up to his father, tough shoes to fill.

I meant directing, those producer credits don't always entail much creative involvement. Like I wouldn't call Monkey Man a Jordan Peele film in any way, and I don't know what "Him" is. Though I guess NOPE was more recent than I thought, for some reason it felt like it'd been longer since that came out

Kek, you reminded me of Steve Coogan in Hamlet 2 when he asked his drama students "did anybody watch Dangerous Minds last night? With the brilliant, BRILLIANT, Michelle Pfeiffer?"

>those producer credits don't always entail much creative involvement.
Producing generally means a lot of behind the scenes work, it doesn’t always necessarily have to be direct creative control but sometimes it can. Depends on the project.
>Like I wouldn't call Monkey Man a Jordan Peele film in any way
Nobody is claiming it is. It was originally meant to be a Netflix movie but they apparently had second thoughts about its release after completion because it was considered too gritty and political. Then Peele saw it, liked it and jumped in and worked his ass off to get Universal to buy it from Netflix deal in order give the movie a proper and wider theatrical release. That’s why he gets a producer credit because he actually played an
Important part in it being released.

I saw some American WW2 movie where they have an American nig mock Germans over the Rhineland occupation rapes. It actually shocked me that they're willing to go that far. I can't remember the name but it was slop where some diverse special forces team epically owns the Germans.
