Is it actually good or are you just memeing? Haven't watched an episode but gives me CSI and House vibes, which I'm not a fan of. People here seem to compare it to The Sopranos, The Wire and Breaking Bad, but I don't know if they're joking or not.

Season 4-5 are kino.

Better than Breaking Bad. Not better than The Sopranos or The Wire. It's good, although the first season it's a hard watch nowadays except for the pilot.

Not bad, as I said the pilot is pretty great, easily one of the best to ever make it. I don't mind the episodic formula, is just that they don't do much with the characters until the final episodes and the jokes are hit or miss for the most part. Also the direction of the camera work took a huge improvement right away in S2E1 already.

The Shield is low budget and it feels in it's vibe. That having said, yes, it's better than Breaking Bad, but tier bellow The Sopranos or The Wire or Mad Men.

Nothing touches The Sopranos first of all.
It is blow for blow with The Wire. In fact it probably edges it when you take into account The Shield has an ungodly run from Season 5-7 as well as the greatest series finale ever put to television. The Wire whilst it doesn't shit the bed per se, does sully itself a little with the journalist fake serial killer stuff.

Because just like with Danny, the writers didn't know what to do with him. It didn't help that they're a team during the first seasons, making their scenes seem weaker than the ones with the Strike Team, Dutch/Claudette or Aceveda.

It's inbetween, It's a procedural but they were trying to do prestige TV on basic cable. I think that makes it better than later stuff like Breaking Bad because each episode has something.

I watched the first three or four episodes and it was pretty good but only when the bald nigga was on screen, the rest was meh and there's a hideous sheboon who's often the focus, disgusting

I think Season 3 was the weakest season.

The creator put his wife in it in a major role and she can't act for shit.

It has a great kinetic energy to it, that said it is at its core a procedural so it is slightly formulaic from episode to episode but the characters are so well written and performed you'll overlook that somewhat repetitive structure

Justified is a better show.
