Actual tip for real life, if a dog ever latches onto you (especially your arm) instead of trying to pull, push forward INTO the dogs mouth. This will help keep the teeth from locking into your flesh and if you can drive far enough you can force the dog's jaw open allowing you to free yourself.

If an animal strong enough to kill you charges you and you can react in time, you can fuck it up if you punch your arm into its mouth when it bites. You can even kill it if you use a knife. Not everyone can do this and not every encounter will allow for it.

Pepper spray works on most animals, even pit bulls. It's a better option than any contact. Pepper spray can halt an attacking animal even faster than a gun.
