there have been a couple of guys to try the "haha I knew this was a setup I just wanted to see if it was real" trick and didn't work. The only guys who got away with it were because Perverted Justice would refuse to hand over its evidence

It gives them a video, which they show in court, which people subconsciously view as fact because you said it on video. Not saying anything makes your lawyer's job much easier and doesn't give them anything to play in court.
