They made such a great movie, yet they were lazy to give it the epic ending like it was in the original story.
Anyway Clive Barker deserves more movie adaptations. Fuck King Fuck Fuck!

I haven't seen this movie but according to the title its about some sort of hidden underground meeting of men wanting to touch cock but being too shy

Probably some indie arthouse porn made in belgium

I liked how it slowly turns from a standard slasher flick into a Lovecraftian horror.

no, the monsters are just cave trolls with some supernatural/mystical connotation. not remotely similar to any of HP's works.

It was interesting to see that a mundane civilian giganigga had a real shot at killing the slasher villain. Not even the main character or any sort of hero, just a random gorilla bystander. Most horror movies make the slasher invincible and it's kind of boring.

Yeah, the butcher is providing meat for the City Fathers, who are just really old, decrepit human cannibals like you see in the movie. They despise that they have to live in the dark and live off human flesh, but that's the deal. They answer to THE City Father, a gigantic faceless blob implied to have been in New York since ancient times. It's not crazy to call it primordial and Lovecraftian. Sn Eldritch abomination.

In the story, at one point we go into the POV of the butcher, and he sees Kaufman (Bradley Cooper in the movie) just sitting there. The butcher looks at him with disgust and his thoughts are actually explicitly antisemitic.
>>212606436
Pretty much the same ending as the movie, Kaufman becomes the new butcher. Only in the book, you don't just see the City Fathers, but the "Father of Fathers", this giant weird blob thing.
