here's what's to be expected:
There are some really touching moments.
Pacing is a little shitty, and krypto gets too much screentime, but the few times superman is able to talk alone with both Lois, Jonathan, and Lex in the second half of the movie are the most kino parts.

They also do a really good job at making Lex a convincing villian. He's a little whiny, but he still has very similar ways of going about things similar to comic lex.
watch it for the characters, not the plot.

The shot of him talking to the children while the Justice Gang were glory hogging and the bit where he saved the squirrel made me feel something.

So this post isn’t op because I am op but his assessment is accurate. Personally, I love Clark Kent, and have spent most of my life understanding him, and Bruce, and Hal, and Arthur, etc. this is the first time in my life I saw Clark on screen, and not some avatar for subversion or interpretation or adaptation. He was just… Clark. And that is actually enough.

yeah I basically love the film but there is too much clutter in the third act. in particular Ultraman doesn't get a sendoff to match his level of setup, they made the decision to focus on Lex instead which I get but it reduces him to a puppet.
