Piracy for millions of people is facilitated by one person filming in a cinema or ripping a stream. The fact that corpos still think drm on a bluray will prevent piracy is insane

>A lot of games these days don't even run without these updates.
>Allows seamless integration of expansion content, difficult for pirated games and harder to pirate before steam.
>Could play the game without a no-cd-crack, which was a big deal back when steam started, as it was usually harder to find a working one than the pirated copy of the game.
> As >>212610614 states , no more third party multiplayer launchers, now integrated into steam.
>Mod compatibility without going into folders (usually)
>Even before steam, finding a game you wanted in a case from a store for PC was difficult or impossible depending on the circulation.

Steam gas a lot of problems but it solved a lot of old ones.

just download a patch. let me run the file on my computer.

the whole VAC/Steam ID thing was good for Valve games (Counter-Strike etc) but imagine if they pulled that shit with Quake.

The 300 DVD was by far the worst offender. Had some horrible romantic comedies trailers and when you thought it couldn't be worse it includes a trailer for the 300 videogame and the 300 movie for the Playstation Vita. What the fuck.

Am I the only person that misses the previews on DVDs? I'd get excited to go see whatever I thought was going to be good from the trailers.

Probably goes hand in hand with the fact there hasn't been a movie I've been excited to see this entire decade so far.

Gamers are genuinely the biggest cattle out of all the mediums. Just spending fucking money and enjoying their mediocre pigslop while touting that their shit is the best thang evar!1!
People were actually surprised when they spent fucking money on that expensive Switch 2 and that fucking stupid Mario Kart game that costed literally $80 dollars. I know that nintentards are the worst of the bunch, but this is more indicative of gamers as a whole.

They're the dumbest and most mitwit people by far, and the state their industry is in is solely because of them and their desire to consooooom with pathetic pushback. Oh, and their shitty video game movies like God of War, RDR2, that Korean game where you just play as some chick or whatever, and Last of Us being forced down my throat, even when I'm in /lit/ thread is beyond fucking annoying. No, your shit is trash, nobody likes you, you have zero taste, you've never seriously read a classic book and understood it from multiple levels, and you need to shut the fuck up and go back to your containment zone.

>it requires Steam
This should've been rejected from the start, but that and the horse armour told me all I need to know.

They really are. Think about all the times EA has pissed gamers off. Their reaction: "I'll never buy another EA title again!" Until they make the next game they want.

Baffles me that they complain at all when they're some of the most eager paypiggies out there.

You're a liar.
My 1070 has played everything I wanted to play except Monster Hunter Wilds, and I have that on PS5.
I'm not going to pretend that large battles in TWW3 don't move at normal speed even when clicking fast forward though.
