Lois is supposed to be a realist and a cynic, she does not believe good things should be happening to people. However Superman is a optimist and someone who strives to help people regardless of their lot in life. A lot of the message in the movie is that Superman being such an outright blue boy scout that it influences the Justice gang and Lois to become better people instead of being self centered.
