CUZ I'M A PUNKROCKER YES I AM
what a cringe ending
superman is not punk, he is traditional and classic
>>212618824This isn't Superman. This is Star Lord 2.0. It's obvious James Gunn would much rather do a Justice Gang movie than a Superman movie.
>>212618824>he is traditional and classicyes, he is. But it was not that bad
>but lois i listened to this very bad shitty cringe pop punk band that has nothing to do with punk anyhow so i am punk too ok?
>>212618824Superman is a Jewish-created golem and always has been.
I honestly liked it, 8/10.
I know this place is contrarianville but I just can't lie, it was a fun time.
>>212618805 (OP)>>212618824>>212618846Finally a superman that's actually a superman thread, weird how the other "superman" threads are actually about anything but the movie.

>>212620613 i meant he liked the punkrock plot after 2nd view.
>>212618824>the entire scene where Superman tells Lois that in the modern cynical world it’s actually punk rock to be kind and old fashionedHonestly, some of you people are, genuinely, mentally disabled.
>>212620855retard. hiphopper is a cover of teddybears sthlm punkrocker. Fucking kys retarded faggot whore.

DO YOU REALLY WANNA DO YOU REALLY WANNA TASTE IT
>>212618824>superman is not punk, he is traditional and classicThat's what makes him punk in a modern world you litteral retard
>>212618824The narrative argument of the movie is pretty simple to follow. Lex is motivated by natal determinism- he believes that he’s the smartest man in the world and therefore it’s his birthright to lead so he takes offense to Superman’s existence contradicting that and stealing his glory. Superman’s living proof that you aren’t what your parents decided you would be, you get to reinvent yourself and decide who you are. That’s what makes him punk rock.
>>212623447The irony being that he rebels against his parents by being what he THOUGHT his parents wanted him to be. He rebels by being obedient.
If the message hadn't been broken and he grew up believing he was supposed to conquer Earth, he probably would've done it without question. I guess that's what Brightburn was about, but I don't remember how that ends. Really Supes was just set in his ways and isn't capable of change.
I think looking to James Gunn for actual thought is silly.
>>212623706On top of it, he still ends the movie obsessed with having an authority figure. It's just that at the start, both sets of them were in alignment. Clark is actually a moron, but he gets to get away with it because nobody can stand up to him, lol
>>212623706I disagree. Pa Kent said it outright that Clark only thought he was listening to his parents, but he actually headcanoned the rest of the message because that directive to be good was actually innate to Clark and it was what he wanted to do. If he was actually a Homelander type fag he would have thought the open-ended message meant to rule earth.
>>212623841Wow the human said "uhhh, no, actually you never wanted to conquer humanity, you're too pure, Good Boy!" lmao
>>212623841Pa Kent also thought Lois' name was Luanne
>>212618824Its even more cringe when you realize The Suicide Squad ended with a punk song too. So Villains and Superman are both punk now? I hate gunnbots so much kek
>>212618824>superman is not punk, he is traditional and classicBeing traditional and classic in 2025 IS punk.
>>212618805 (OP)Seething reddit nihilists got BTFO so hard. Being a moralchad is the new punk. Can't wait to be kind today Superbros.
>>212624082Why would a moralchad WANT to be punk?
>>212618805 (OP)This movie made my asian wife cry
>>212624017It's just because Gunn likes punk rock music. Directors who insert things they're passionate about is what gives a film sovl.
>>212624060This guy gets it. The world is cynical and shitty. Being a good person is defying conventional norms.
>>212624123The screening I went to the entire row ahead of me was one party of schlubby Asian girls, and when Clark started making out with Lois in her kitchen, a visible cloud of vaginal mist erupted out in front of them like a dozen febreze bottles getting sprayed at once
>>212624191Superman literally says this exact same thing explicitly, almost verbatim, why are you guys patting yourselves on the back for understanding a Superman movie
IT'S WHY THEY USED THAT SONG YOU RETARDS
>>212624248because the tard at the top of the thread somehow missed it
One thing the movie did very well qas showing the most compassionate superman. It shows he cares for all life and has good morals.
However, i did not like how they decided to skip the origin story (good call, about time) but for the internal conflict the solution was going back to the implied origin story
>but clark, we did teach you how to be a good man, dont you remember?
>Oh yeah, you are right, i am a good man, off to save the world then
Thank god they showed him being good to the point of everyone questioning is actions and reason (even lois), but I don't think it still was enough
>>212618846He is not an iota as comedic as Star-Lord
So do we find this Supes' naivete charming, or is it just annoying?
>>212626271It would've worked better without having him talk like a genuine imbecile (HEY DUDE)
