What I don't understand is why anyone watched it after Reloaded. But I supposed there's a chance that by randomness, some kids stumbled into Reloaded without having seeing The Matrix, and being 10 years old and never having seen a movie before, thought that Reloaded was cool, so they wanted more.

It's honestly incredible how they made 4 movies, and every one of them is SIGNIFICANTLY shittier than the previous.
I wouldn't have thought they could go lower than revolutions, but amazingly they managed.

I honestly watched Reloaded like two times in the theater with my friends from school
I just wanted to fucking understand the story/the plot and what the fuck is happening and it was really cool as fuck back in my days

I like Reloaded as much as the original.
I don't think it's as good a movie, but I genuinely feel it has a unique aesthetic, interesting plot, good themes, and does a fair bit to expand the lore - I also think it has a great ending with the Architect.
I get why people don't like it, but I think their expectations were generally too high after the original and at the time stuff like the Smiths fight were just as revolutionary as anything from the original movie.

The implementation was very poor, the choreography goofy and tedious and the actual animation bad. What part are you possibly saying is 'revolutionary'? A guy fighting lot of guys like in 1000 kung fu movies and jackie chan stuff that was much more impressive and basically real and filmed in one take? A cgi-double? i.e. that idea from mummy returns?

I agree that choreographing with lots of extras makes a better scene, but the camera work would have been impossible and only works because they could use that virtual setup.

Why do you keep saying this? Is the joke supposed to be that we were retards back then who just ate any slop? The animation was like from a game, you know the way when limbs bend in a 90s game, the part around the joint just collapses there's not solidity to the polygons. That was something that people were witnessing in a movie - a bendy floppy polygon man. The very general football-watching audience wouldn't have described it in these terms but anyone who'd played a video game would
