A real horse needs to be ridden and if it's having a bad day or the actor smells funny the horse might shrug them into a bramble bush. Also, working with animals is fucken stupid and demanding. A real horse would need to be very well trained to have a camera crew within a few feet of it while moving.
Fuck it, use the prop and get that footage in the can so we can get back to the pub and sleaze on locals.
